7 reasons why hiring a cleaner can change your life.

Updated: Jul 14, 2020

We are regularly asked what is the benefit of hiring a weekly cleaner?” andIsn’t it just for people more ‘well off’”

Well to the latter, thankfully no, not these days anyway. Aside from the obvious that cleaning takes up a lot of time and attention, most cleaning companies are affordable compared to other expenses. For example, for the price of a popular pizza meal deal (as one of our clients put it), you get to put your feet up for a couple of hours and contemplate what you will do for your weekend, rather than waking up and immediately thinking about how many cleaning tasks you have to do.

So aside from more time to enjoy your life, what else would change in your favour if you hire a cleaner? We compiled seven reasons to convince you.

1. More time, less housework for you

New clients have reported feeling anxious every weekend morning when they awake knowing that they need to begin their hard-earned break with a clean. An untidy or unclean house is widely thought to affect mental health for some, and it can be a little overwhelming for all of us at times, don’t get me wrong, some people can whiz through it but most of us get caught up organising things, reading odd letters or generally procrastinating as we go, meaning it takes us MUCH longer than a professional. Knowing it’s already done frees you from this and allows you to get on with your day, all you have to do is decide what nice things you will do instead!

2. You can be house proud, without the effort

If you are like me, you won’t have visitors in your home unless it’s spotless. I know that if my friends and family are coming for a coffee I have to factor in a clean - and not just any clean - a full pull everything out no stone unturned clean. Let’s be honest, they probably aren’t going to run their fingers across my doorframes, but the thought of it makes me panic. All of these places are cleaned by us as your cleaner as standard, so you can just focus on a quick tidy up on the day instead. Bliss!

3. More time for socialising

Leading on nicely from the previous point, having a cleaner will free up your time for other things such as seeing your friends and family after a long working week. If you aren’t up for that, then you can always use your new-found time for getting those pesky and forever on hold tasks done.

4. Your home will be cleaner and done in less time

We already mentioned door frames, but what about the other areas which we tend to forget or not have time for, for example, polishing the taps, dusting the back of your toilet, tops of cupboards, dust webs around the corners of the room, door handles, picture frames, inside windows, under the sofa? A professional would do it quicker since we clean for a living and depending on your time slot, you could have these things done on each visit, or in a rota system. Either way, you will not have to worry about them becoming unmanageable.

5. You are helping the economy whilst keeping your property safe

By choosing a cleaner who pays tax properly, has insurance, and is DBS checked, you are helping to fund small businesses, providing jobs for local people, and your cleaner is background checked and insured against breakages and key loss. If there is a problem with the clean, you have someone to talk to other than the cleaner which may be uncomfortable for both. You can be safe in the knowledge that you are dealing with professionals.

6. You or your family may have health problems exasperated by cleaning

You may be about to go in for an operation, you may have disabilities or be less mobile than you used to be, or you may suffer from allergies. Hiring a professional can’t remove the underlying health problem but we can remove the pain involved in cleaning your home - or your family members home, there is no shame in needing help. Dust allergy sufferers can benefit hugely from a regular cleaner as we remove the majority of dust gathered on surfaces in each visit. It’s beneficial to know that some of our cleaners come from the care industry and have experience going into homes of the elderly. Whilst this is a cleaning business and we can’t offer care, knowing our professional backgrounds can put your loved ones’ minds at ease, and we can even make them a cuppa and a sandwich whilst we are with them.

7. Fewer arguments in the home! :-)

We all know this one. If you are lucky to be married or cohabiting or, like me, you live with a messy teenager, the arguments around being clean and tidy and who does what each day/week are a frustrating part of life. There is (in my opinion) nothing more soul-destroying than doing all of your weekly chores and then coming in from the shops two hours later to see your significant other/teen etc haven’t done their part yet. Having a cleaner takes that problem away, so you can allocate small daily duties instead - like washing up or wiping the kitchen surfaces each evening or loading the laundry and have the peace of mind that the big stuff is covered each week. Many of our clients say it's a game changer when it comes to a calm and argument free home!

Finally....

In summary, if you want your time to be freed up, your house to be cleaner, but are still unsure, think about how much you earn, then how much of your free time you spend on cleaning. Now consider if your free time is worth being wasted on cleaning. Our minimum clean is two hours, our rates are £13.50 per hour - the price of a takeaway - and can be enjoyed for a much longer time, with many more benefits.
